Dear Susan,

Thank you so very much for the last 3 years that you did not give up on me, that I now have my ODSP. You have been like one of my family members since you first started with my case.
Thanks for all of the hard work and time that you spent on getting me my ODSP.

Thank you,

I just wanted to take the opportunity on behalf of my family to thank you for your sincere understanding of our situation. You not only responded promptly to my concerns, you contacted me personally and we were able to come to a very reasonable agreement on the cost of your services for our change in financial abilities. You have made it possible for us to have peace of mind regarding our special needs child's future. You were open and honest and helped me to feel equal in such an unfair life changing event. We are so very please with our Wills and Henson Trust you made for a price we could afford.
Your name will be highly spoke of.

Sincerely,

D. L.

On my recent return to Canada to attend to the needs of my 18-year-old autistic brother and non English-speaking family, I was confronted by innumerable difficulties with government agencies such as the ODSP. I contacted Mr. Pope to advise me on a variety of legal issues, and he quickly made himself available for a consultation. After the seemingly insurmountable obstacles I have faced so far, Mr. Pope's extensive knowledge and genuine concern for my family have been a blessing for us.
I cannot express in words the difference it makes to those of us fighting for family members who can't speak for themselves to have someone like Mr. Pope as an advocate. His civic spirit is truly remarkable.

Sincerely,

R. Lee

Dear Ken,

I just wanted to take a moment to personally thank you again for advice and help you provided me recently during my teaching practicum. The help you gave really made a positive difference in what was an extremely stressful situation. I am relieved to know sometimes the law does work how it is supposed to.

December 4, 2002

I became acquainted with Ken Pope during a presentation he made to the Durham chapter of Autism Society Ontario in January of this year, and was very much impressed by his knowledge of estate planning for parents of children with special needs.
Ken's clear and simple explanation of the Henson Trust and what is involved in setting one up enabled my husband and me to plan for the future of our special-needs son. Both Ken and his assistant, Marissa, were a pleasure to deal with, and showed genuine concern for us as a family. Our wills were drafted promptly and accurately, and were explained to us in helpful detail. Moreover, my husband and I were impressed by and appreciative of the fact that Ken took the time to come from Ottawa to our home in Pickering to finalize our wills with us. In fact, when Ken travels throughout Ontario to make presentations, he makes a point of scheduling visits with his clients at times and locations convenient to them.
That level of service and personal touch made what would be, under most circumstances, a sombre ordeal a very relaxed and pleasant experience. I would not hesitate to recommend Ken and his services to anyone. -

Sincerely,

Mrs. L in Pickering

Dear Ken:

Thank you very much for all the help you have been to our son so far. His operation is going to be in December, much sooner than he thought. He would like to take the independent road of keeping what he has and with him on EI Medical it seems to be possible.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Pope,

On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Ontario Brain Injury Association (OBIA), it is my pleasure to announce that you have been selected to receive the "Legal Fellowship Award" to be presented at the Annual General Meeting on June 22, 2002.
You have shown a great deal of leadership and support to persons living with the effects of acquired brain injury by assisting them with their disability and estate planning; providing information on Henson Trusts; and sharing your wealth of knowledge through your online newsletter. This has both directly and indirectly made a difference in the lives of many of those with whom we work. Therefore, we would like to extend our acknowledgement and gratitude.
Congratulations and our warmest thanks for your continued support.

Sincerely,

 John Kumpf
Executive Director, OBIA

To whom it may concern,

As a parent of a son with developmental disabilities, I was concerned about his future . As I investigated means of providing additional financial assistance and security I sought advice from experts in the field.
I retained the services of Mr. Kenneth Pope, Barrister, Solicitor and Notary Public. He is a lawyer who provides specialized support to families of people with disabilities. As a result of our conversations, our Will was revised to create an absolute discretionary trust to protect our son's inheritance. A Henson Trust was implemented which will protect our son's inheritance without jeopardizing his right to his Disability Support payment. I have also appreciated being informed of current legislation through Mr. Pope's letters sent to our home once or twice a year. I like this type of follow-up service very much.
Mr. Pope was most willing to talk to me in language I understood whether it be on the phone, using the fax or in person at our home. He appeared supportive and knowledgeable of current legislation and the needs of special needs individuals.
I am pleased to recommend the services of Mr. Pope to parents who are in a situation similar to our. If I can be of further help to any parents please contact me.

Sincerely,

Ken,

Thank you for the time you spent with my wife and me last year as we worked through the complex issues in setting up an inter vivos trust for my son, and wills and powers of attorney for my wife and I.
This process was of course complicated by the issue of incorporating the text necessary to establish a testamentary/Henson-style trust. Your ability to provide us with all the answers to our myriad of questions has left us with the confidence that we are protected going forward into the future, and that as the law changes you will be able to properly serve us.
If you are talking to others with respect to offering services related to these types of complex legal matters, by all means I would wholeheartedly recommend you to assist in such affairs.

 Regards,

 Mr. J. P.

Ken

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your assistance last summer in preparing wills for my mother, husband and myself. Particularly, I would like to thank you for all the advice you gave concerning my disabled sister and how to best make provisions for her in our wills. I was particularly impressed with the amount of time you spent with Mom going through her will with her to ensure she understood exactly what each clause meant.
Lastly, I would like to thank you for your recent letter which outlined ODSP changes which will impact recipients. It is often difficult, in our busy lives, to keep abreast on such developments/changes and it is nice to know that there are people like you out there to make our lives easier.
Thanks Ken!
